How the vision took shape
Engineer Africa grew around a practical question: how can people in Africa and the diaspora organize their knowledge, relationships and resources to build a brighter future together?

Photographs and an official film from the Accra kick-off in 2019 record people gathering to exchange ideas and ask questions. At the first-anniversary celebration on 28 December 2019, the community came together again around the organization’s developing purpose.
Those gatherings are part of our story. Their value is visible in the conversations, participation and sense of possibility they created. They do not establish that every proposed initiative became a completed project.

Its ideas inform the organization’s approach: local teams lead, contributors agree clear roles, and learning and maintenance help useful work last. The original edition remains available as a publication.

The useful next step is something people can do together. Bring a local need, share experience, learn a practical skill or support the work.
