Our overarching mission revolves around empowering African engineers, strengthening engineering education and skills, encouraging technological progress, and addressing local challenges through innovative engineering solutions.
We firmly believe in the transformative potential of engineering to fuel sustainable development, spur economic growth, and drive social progress in Africa. Our dedication extends to constructing a resilient engineering ecosystem that nurtures talent, supports entrepreneurial endeavors, and facilitates collaboration among engineers, academia, industries, and governments.
Engineer Africa actively pursues its mission through various avenues, including knowledge sharing, capacity-building programs, mentorship, and networking opportunities. By focusing on diverse engineering domains such as civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, and more, we empower African engineers to serve as catalysts for positive change in their communities and the continent as a whole.
Our initiatives span critical areas like affordable housing, road development, flood prevention, and wireless mesh design. In acknowledgment of the brain drain phenomenon, where African engineers migrate to the West, Engineer Africa actively engages the African diaspora as integral members of the global community of African engineers. This strategic approach seeks to enhance Africa's engineering capacity and drive the continent's overall development.
Established in December 2018, Engineer Africa operates as a nonprofit corporation and holds tax-exempt status as a public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the US Internal Revenue Code.
